Secure on The Hill

We just got home from a terrific visit with our son and daughter in-law who live near St. Louis. On Saturday evening, we enjoyed eating dinner at a fabulous Italian restaurant in an area of St. Louis known as The Hill. On recommendation from the kids, we chose Lorenzo’s Trattoria because they had eaten there a few months ago. (They had eaten at another in the area and were sorely disappointed. The food was processed and very disappointing). At Lorenzo’s, the food was superb, our server was excellent and we had a wonderful dinner.

While walking in the area, I enjoyed looking at the types of houses mixed among the restaurants. Most were very skinny and tall. I would love to see inside one to see how a house that skinny was arranged. I can’t imagine! I did notice that, because of their location, (being in a well-traveled foot traffic area), most of the homeowners were wise and educated on police security tips and by similar studies done by the Fort Worth, PD. They depended on ADT home security systems. I have a friend who has proudly worked for the ADT home security team for many years. ADT has been in business for over 100 years! My friend has not been there for 100 years but she has been there long enough to know that they are the leader in security technology advancements. I would trust my home to their state-of-the-art Wireless Home Security Systems.

If you are ever in St. Louis, be sure to check out The Hill for their fabulous restaurants and their quaint homes. There is a lot to do in St. Louis. I have a list a mile long of places we want to visit.

Didn’t Mean to Ruin Dinner

PhotobucketI have to tell you a funny story.

Tonight, while eating out at a restaurant, a pesky fly kept buzzing in front of my face. He landed on the ketchup bottle and was so close that I took a swing at him with my napkin. I killed that sucker, dead as a doorknob. Only thing bad about that dead fly was that my swing pitched him right into my husbands plate. He landed right in the gravy on my husbands mashed potatoes. Ooops!

Stop Smoking

Well, today was a bummer. I started out with plans to sew all afternoon. I got my material out and could feel the creative juices running. Hubby and I went down the road to the local restaurant to grab some lunch and that is when my day unraveled.

The restaurant has a non smoking section, where we sat, but I was assaulted by cigarette smoke. It usually doesn’t bother me but maybe someone was smoking a strong brand because I have a horrible headache. I cannot sew when my head hurts so I took a nap. What a wasted day.
