I don’t want to complain but we did not have a very nice spring. It was either raining, cold or muggy hot. There were no pretty days to sit outside and get ready for a hot summer. All that changed this past weekend. We had nice warm, but not too warm, days. Then this week turned out to be very nice, weather wise. I won’t go into how our business sign bit the dust, I stepped on my glasses, hubby broke his glasses and our store bell started to play Christmas music. Today was spent with employees excited about a Cosmetology Career and showed it as they made many women happy with hair color, trims and waxes. In other words, I got my roots colored and a trim. No waxing for me today.

Last night when I put the dogs out for a potty break, I saw lights exploding in the sky and trees. I didn’t know what was going on until my husband came out and told me they were fireflies! I have never seen fireflies like that. They were high in the sky and looked like firecrackers exploding. It was a beautiful sight. Do you have fireflies where you live?

I feel like a new person! I finally got new prescription glasses that fit me. My old glasses had scratched lenses and were so bent out of shape that I would get headaches while wearing them. These new frames are sturdy and hold their shape. I haven’t been reading in bed lately but I have an idea that they will withstand that test of holding their shape during that time too. I am hard on frames. I admit it! The expense of new glasses has kept me in my old ones far too long.

Now that I know how good these new glasses feel, I am interested in getting prescription sunglasses. I like being able to wear prescription sunglasses. Not switching from glasses to sunglasses, keeps me from getting headaches.

I checked prices at our local optometrist and they want way too much money even by offering a 50% sale because I purchased my glasses from them. I prefer ZenniOptical’s pricing. Now, I just have to decide which frames to get! Decisions, decisions. LOL

I got new glasses back in 2007 and decided I need to get a new pair. Back then, I got wire frames that are rimless. They are so flimsy that they are often out of focus. I try to be careful to put them in a case each time I take them off but I admit to not always doing so. That means they are scratched up and the frames are bent.

I went to the eye doctor this morning and tried to purchase the cheapest frames and get out of there for the least amount of money spent. Can you believe that my total is still almost $500!! And to top it off, I have to join AARP to get a 30% discount.

I have bad eyes and I am old. I am cheap. I wish I could go back to bed.

Why do things happen around the holidays? Our son’s car broke down and had to have a major repair that entailed a large amount of money. This weekend hubby broke the ear piece on glasses. It is a necessity for him to have his glasses. He cannot see without them. Luckily, I know about Zenni Optical. They have quality, affordable glasses that won’t further break our budget. Christmas gifts need to be purchased and this is not a good time to be replacing refrigerators and other things that decide to break down.

I tried to talk hubby into a pair of Holiday frames but he didn’t think he would look very cool in a pair. I do! I would love to have a pair of red frames to wear during the holidays.
