Ways To Save

Have you watched any of the episodes of Coupon Moms? While I do think these ladies take their couponing to extremes, I am inspired by their quest to save money. They are probably already aware of Savings.com coupons. I am happy to have recently discovered this website. I have always been one to check out the online coupon websites so I have some knowledge as to which sites have the best coupons and link codes for savings.

Savings.com has coupons for just about everything you could imagine. I was so happy to see that they even have a coupon code to save 20% at Vera Bradley. Christmas is coming and my daughter in-law loves Vera Bradley bags.

Halloween is coming soon so if you need a costume, don’t try to be a super mom and sew a new costume. Check out Savings.com for the saving codes at BuyCostumes.com. Savings.com also has coupon codes for your everyday needs like cosmetics from Drugstore.com.

Savings.com is also geared to the local economy. I clicked on the local tab and discovered I can buy restaurant gift certificates for two very popular restaurants in my town and that the gift certificates are half the cost of what I would pay just walking into their venue. I am getting some great gift ideas!

Going Fishing!

It is that time of year when my husband gets fishing fever. I don’t know about you but to me, this has been the longest winter. I am catching my husband’s fishing fever! I cannot wait to get our little fishing boat out onto the lake.

I have loved to fish since I was a little girl. I don’t know if my mom begged my dad to get “the girls” out of her hair but, during the summer, my dad would take his daughters fishing. Bless his heart. I never remember him getting mad, no matter how many times he had to get our lines out of a tree or get them unstuck from a pile of brush. We did have to learn to bait our own hooks. Minnows weren’t too bad to put on a hook but I usually would use the stick and stab method to bait a night crawler worm. I refused to use bemoths as bait. They looked like overgrown maggots. Nope, wasn’t gonna use bemoths even if it meant not catching any fish. Anyway, I fondly remember stopping at a little grocery, picking out my Orange Crush pop and PayDay candy bar before getting down to the business of casting my line. Dad told us that the fish wouldn’t bite if we were noisy. Was that his way of getting three little girls to stay quiet while watching our bobbers?

These days, you might hear me singing, admittedly rather loudly, while patiently watching my bobber sway while being pushed by ripples caused by wind blowing across the water. That hasn’t deterred my husband from asking me to go fishing with him. He has been cleaning up the boat. It is cleaner than my car. LOL Each year we buy something new from Cabelas to make our fishing trip more enjoyable. I would love to find an inexpensive depth finder to replace the one we used to have. I will be checking out Promotion Code.org to find the most up to date coupon code to use before hitting the submit button for my purchase. I was, recently, able to save on the new paddle we purchased to go along with our required life vests. I have grown up to discover that along with candy bars and pop, it takes equipment to catch a few fish! Who’d have thunk it??

Save on Baby Formula

PhotobucketIt has been a long time since my children were babies but when they were, they were on baby formula. I wanted the best formula to help my babies get the vitamins they needed to start their healthy lives. I had no idea of the regulations that pertained to baby formula. I now know that all infant formula sold in the U.S. must meet the same basic nutrient requirements specified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. I wish I had known it was possible to save money by buying GENERIC baby formula and still have the best formula for my babies!

At the Parent’s Choice website, there is a handy baby formula savings calculator that makes it easy to compare prices of formula. It upsets me to think of the money I could have saved when I used the calculator and found that the generic brand was more than half the cost of the brand I purchased.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking name brand is the best when it comes to baby formula. Parent’s Choice is an unbiased advocate that is keen on helping parents during these stressful economic times.

The Parent’s Choice website is full of helpful checklists with insights on things like what to carry in your diaper bag and even safety measures to make your home safe for your baby.

Everyone likes free samples don’t they? Parent’s Choice has free samples of their formula! Check out Parent’s Choice!
