Children’s Games

I was thinking about all the games that children play on the computer and wondered, do kids play games like I played when I was little?

I loved to play jacks. The game was played with little metal pieces that were thrown on the ground. Wherever they landed made the job of picking them up more intriguing. The object was to bounce a ball, pick up as many jacks as possible before catching the ball as it came down from the air.

What games do you remember playing as a child?

Ways To Save

Have you watched any of the episodes of Coupon Moms? While I do think these ladies take their couponing to extremes, I am inspired by their quest to save money. They are probably already aware of Savings.com coupons. I am happy to have recently discovered this website. I have always been one to check out the online coupon websites so I have some knowledge as to which sites have the best coupons and link codes for savings.

Savings.com has coupons for just about everything you could imagine. I was so happy to see that they even have a coupon code to save 20% at Vera Bradley. Christmas is coming and my daughter in-law loves Vera Bradley bags.

Halloween is coming soon so if you need a costume, don’t try to be a super mom and sew a new costume. Check out Savings.com for the saving codes at BuyCostumes.com. Savings.com also has coupon codes for your everyday needs like cosmetics from Drugstore.com.

Savings.com is also geared to the local economy. I clicked on the local tab and discovered I can buy restaurant gift certificates for two very popular restaurants in my town and that the gift certificates are half the cost of what I would pay just walking into their venue. I am getting some great gift ideas!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TracFone for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you hear the quiet? School has started! I admit to having been one of those moms. You know, the ones who breathed a sigh of blessed relief when school started again each fall. Now, don't get me wrong. I loved the unstructured schedule of summer. I did not love the endless fighting and cries of boredom.

When my kids left for college, my husband and I discovered that we needed cell phones. I can't count how many times were were out and about and came home to find a message on the answering machine from our kids. It was frustrating trying to call them back.

Golden Finches

PhotobucketI have put out thistle seed for the finches all summer long. Just recently, they have gone crazy with their eating habits. They might need prolotherapy Arizona if they keep pigging out like they have been.

It is inexpensive to feed finches and I have so much fun watching them boot each other off the feeder perches. I don’t know how they decide their pecking order but they do a lot of pushing. LOL

Most recently, I have found that they like my purple cone flowers. All of my flowers are drying out which makes the seeds more attractive to the birds. It is so funny to look out across my flower bed and see the flowers bouncing up and down. Finches have agile feet to grip the stems of seed heads while feeding. They carry and spread the seeds across my yard causing sprouts of flowers in some strange places.

Doves seem to enjoy eating the castoff seeds that fall from the feeder. Is it true that doves always travel in pairs?

My hummingbird food went to waste this year. I put it out late in the season and by the time the hummingbirds found my feeder, it seemed that they had no interest. I’ll have to remember to put it out right away come spring.

I have enjoyed watching the birds this summer and fall. I hate to see winter arrive. I’ll bet the birds do too.

Husband’s Birthday

Okay, it is September. There are a few family birthdays in September, one being my husband’s. If I had a lot of money, I know that he would love to have a Mini-Cooper and a tear drop camper trailer.

We stopped at a car dealership on our way home from taking our daughter to the airport on Tuesday. They had just received a shipment of tear drop campers! My husband has been interested in these cute little campers for a few years but had yet to find one near us so he could actually look at one. It was fun to see how such a small camper could hold so much. Hubby was in heaven. LOL

Anyway, since I don’t have the funds to buy a camper or car, I have been looking at Aquaswiss watches at Blue Dial dot com. They are an authorized reseller of well known watch brands and offer exceptional prices. And, since I have procrastinated and need to rush to get hubby’s gift, they offer FREE 2-day shipping! Thank you Blue Dial!

My husband is very hard on watches and usually buys a cheap watch to wear while he is working. When he wants to dress up, he enjoys wearing a fashionable watch. I think he will like this Swissport watch with its Roman numeral numbered dial and a sturdy rubber strap.

Now, to stop procrastinating and get it ordered!
