Happy Mother’s Day! I know I am so lucky to have both my Mom and Mother inlaw here to celebrate with me. I got to have lunch with Greg this afternoon and my daughter is here from North Carolina.

It was a beautiful day because the sun was out but it wasn’t too terribly hot.

Hubby smoked chicken halves all afternoon that turned out delicious. He has used that smoker so much that it is about time to get a new one. It cooks meat evenly and brings out a lot of flavor but it isn’t time consuming to use. He can use different types of wood chips to bring out different flavors. Some he has tried have been hickory, Jack Daniels whiskey barrels, and mesquite. He has cooked many types of meats like brisket and chicken.

It seems that all I ever hear about is how wonderful the Apple iphone is. I have never seen one. Are they even available?

I am more interested in the cool Sprint Upstage phone Isn’t that a great name? You should see this phone. It actually has two screens. One in the front and one in the back. On one side is an “iPOD-like” music player with large color high-res display and touch-sensitive controls, and on the other side is a full-featured phone. Tonight we attended the Baccalaureate for Greg’s graduation. I was dreading it because it was 85 degrees here today and I imagined sitting through a long boring ceremony. I was pleasantly surprised.

The program began with a very talented student playing the piano. Then another graduating student gave a short presentation followed by a speaker. This young lady gave a bit of a pep talk to her fellow graduates.

The speaker for the evening was the Professor who accompanied Greg and other students on their Shakespeare tour of England last summer. He was delightfully funny. His speech seemed short but that was because it was so entertaining.

A few other students performed songs and musical productions. A young lady played the trumpet and was so talented. Her notes were so fluid as they rolled out of her trumpet presenting a beautiful sound to our ears.

We were serenaded by violinist as we were bid farewell and that was it.

It didn’t hurt a bit!

Greg was surprised to see his sister walk up to the restaurant where he, his Grandma and his Aunt were waiting to meet us for dinner. They were seated next to the sidewalk in an outdoor type restaurant. It was so cute to see them hug.

We had deep dish pizza and OH MY GOODNESS, it was so good. It was pretty noisy and it was hard to hear but we had a good time. Stacy was so happy to be home with her family. She is loving where she is stationed and it was good to hear the stories of what she has been doing.

My sister, Grace, keeps us laughing and we get silly. Mom just takes it all in and relaxes. Hubby just grins except when he is the one being silly.

It was a great night.
