Planning to Travel

One of the most memorable vacations we ever took was when we went to Vegas last year. We had not been to Vegas in a while and boy had it changed. There is a wonderful wax museum called, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas Wax Museum. Located at the beautiful Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino, visits to the museum are a one of a kind experience. It was exciting, yet eerie to be in a museum where the characters seem so real. Can you imagine standing next to Johnny Depp?

Las Vegas is one city that I think every one should visit at least once in their lifetime. Even if you do not gamble, it is interesting to see all the magnificent architecture. The fountains and walkways are thrilling to see. The Eiffel Tower is beautiful. I loved seeing the light show on the water fall at the new Wynns hotel. Even the restrooms are filled with beautiful paintings and ceramic tile. The floral arrangements are out of this world. I admire how all the hotels come together to make Vegas such a showplace. It is like no other place in the world.

Travel to Hong Kong

The orient has alway held a fascination for me. It is often portrayed in movies as a hustling, bustling place, full of mystery. Flights to Hong Kong will take visitors to an exciting place. Hong Kong is known as a financial hub which began during the days of trade in the 19th century. Being such an important business entity, Hong Kong is the place for fun nightlife and five star restaurants.

You will see another side of Hong Kong as you venture out to the hilly and mountainous terrain. There are many beaches that are referred to as gazetted beaches. These beaches are maintained by a government service group called, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, in order that they remain well maintained. Other exciting places to visit in Hong Kong are also governed by the LCSD and are a great resource for learning about culture. The Hong Kong Cultural Center is the home of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. This orchestra is hosting the wonderful pianist Barry Douglas on April 25 & 26th. If I could skip work, I would be there in a heartbeat!

Stuck at the Airport

My poor brother inlaw is stuck in San Jose because of this airline problem. The FAA has stopped all flights for several airlines and it has thrown everything inot a tizzy. Thousands of dollars are being lost as travelers who reserved hotels and purchased event tickets are stuck at the airport. It is crazy. Why didn’t the airlines comply fully in the first place? What a mess.

Home Sweet Home

We made it home from our trip to Florida. Traveling with wireless Internet is the way to go. The time went by so fast. One minute we were in Bowling Green, Kentucky and the next we were in Indianapolis. It might have even gone quicker had we not missed our exit outside of Nashville, Tennessee. We took a little detour that gave us a new look at Kentucky. I’d rather take the back roads and see everyone’s houses instead of taking the highway any ole day.

The dogs were so glad to see us. I could hear Elsie crying as soon as she heard our voices. Brody had been groomed while we were gone and he looks so cute. They both smell good.

Now, it is on to getting the laundry done and getting some food to put into the refrigerator. Hubby will be working out in the country tomorrow and won’t be able to bring me any lunch. The stack of mail doesn’t looks too bad. One order didn’t come in so I will have to call the freight line to see what happened to my instructions.

Stopping in Murfreesboro

After a long day of travel, we are pulling into a hotel in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It is only 30 degrees colder than when we left Florida this morning. Boo hoo. I don’t think I want to go home to the land of ice and snow.

I miss my puppies and my bed though so we must trudge along and get home. The dogs will be so glad to see us. I wonder if they think we have forgotten them? It will be hard not to let them sleep with us when we get home.

We have seen so many deer in the fields this evening. I am so glad that none have decided to cross the road in front of our car. I hit a deer a few years ago. It was a small doe and still did a lot of damage to my car. I was pulling our boat at the time and it scared me to think that we all might end up in the ditch.
