Why am I under my desk? Because, when the storm was nearing, I unplugged everything before lighting could zap my computer. After the storm, I needed my computer in order to see what the time was. Now, that is ridiculous! I seriously need a watch.

My husband is not addicted to the computer at all and so he still relies on his watch. He has a cheap watch that he wears while working and keeps his special watches to wear to church. Watches are to guys like shoes are to us girls.

My husband loves to talk about unique timepieces. Being an avid collector of Swiss Army Knives, he was introduced to the quality watches of Swiss Army many years ago. He is an admirer of the Victorinox Swiss Army timepieces and has been leaving hints as to why one would make a fabulous father’s day gift. You can visit Swissarmy.com to view their collection of timepieces and choose one for that special guy in your life.

While visiting the Swiss Army Website, visit the Facebook IWAW sweepstakes page and check out the “I Wear a Watch sweepstakes”. Over 30 days they’re giving 30 lucky winners a Victorinox Swiss Army timepiece!

NMEDA Leads Disabled to Independence

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

My mom has been getting her house ready for company. My aunt and uncle will be arriving from California in a few days. There are beds to be made and toilets to clean but those have not been the difficult tasks to accomplish. Those are the easy tasks.

My uncle is disabled. That makes getting around very difficult. We started looking around mom’s house and realize that it is going to be difficult for Uncle Bill to get into the house let alone move from room to room. Have you ever thought about the obstacles the disabled face on a day to day basis?

Fortunately a NMEDA dealer can help the elderly or disabled get back onto the road of independence. NMEDA, “National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association”, has been a godsend for many families. What is NMEDA? They are an association that promotes safe driving and equipment for disabled people. They do not sell anything. They are non-profit and their members are required to adhere to the safety standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. NMEDA dealers (members) are the ones who sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people.

The NMEDA also has Quality Assurance Program (QAP) dealers who insure the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry meets accreditation standards.

What does this mean to those families of disabled persons? The NMEDA assists the elderly or disabled and enables them to get back onto the road of independence. Visit the website at nmeda.org to find a qualified dealer near you. By simply entering our zip code, I was able to find over 20 mobility dealers in our state!

Good Friday

When I worked in town at a bank, I remember having 3 hours off from work during the afternoon on Good Friday. I had never really been exposed to this holiday until then. Every Good Friday that I can remember has been a peaceful day. I wonder why that is. Do people ponder on what happened on this day so many years ago; Christ’s crucifixion and death?

I think upon Jesus while he hung on the cross. He must have been in a lot of pain. I appreciate what he did so that I can live a life full of hope.

Have a wonderful day today.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of USC. All opinions are 100% mine.

I can’t get out of my head the thoughts of my friends who have lost their jobs. I know that, mentally, they are struggling to hold on to the faith that things will work out. One positive aspect of the change in our lives is that some of us are taking the jump that we always said we would take but seemed to never find the time.

Taking time to add to a degree is something we know we should do and now the opportunity is even better with the availability of online resources from USC Rossier School of Education’s MAT@USC. A Master of Arts in Teaching degree will put your resume at the top of the stack when searching for the job of your dreams. Reading over the program information at USC Rossier School of Education’s website accentuates the reasons for earning your degree online.

• Groundbreaking tuition reimbursement program

• Accelerated program you can complete in as little as 12 months

• Opportunity to become a part of the elite USC Trojan Family

• Tuition reimbursement and scholarships

• MAT@USC Student Blog, hear insights about the program from actual students

• Rossier and the MAT@USC were awarded by AACTE for innovative use of technology in education

• Technology video that introduces the interactivity of the program

• First cohort of the MAT@USC graduate in May

The USC Trojan family is one of pride. Their a 100-year history of educating teachers to be agents of change is making a difference in not only lives of teachers but the lives of students as well.

Is it time for you to accentuate your position in your field?

Wow! A few days of sunshine and we are all getting busy! No one is busier than my friend Vixen over at Apron Frenzy. Vixen desperately wants to attend Bloggy Boot Camp in AZ on May 1st and is producing beautiful spring aprons. She hopes that everyone will buy a beautiful apron and help fund her trip! She is even offering to get them shipped quickly if you are trying to have a beautiful apron for a hostess gift or for yourself this Easter Sunday.

I ordered one of Vixen’s aprons at Christmas and I can tell you that they are gorgeous and made with extreme precision. You will love an apron from Apron Frenzy.
