Get Organized!

I just finished reading my newly received issue of Good Housekeeping. I have a love/hate relationship with the magazines I receive in the mail. I love to read them but I want to read them from back cover to front. I have to know everything that is in them. What a big chunk of time it takes to read a good magazine! Yes, I typed that correctly: I read from back cover to front. Doesn’t everyone? Is that what they call being left brained?

I found the article written about Heidi Klum particularly interesting. It sounds like she worked mighty hard to get where she is today. I find myself drawn to her because she seems to be down to earth and loyal to her family. She is goofy at times and I like to see celebrities who don’t take themselves too seriously.

One part of the article talked about how she keeps track of things. She uses different colored pens on her family organizer. What a terrific idea! With a glance, she can see what her kids have going on. If she has a conflict, she can make necessary changes and keep things running smoothly. A family calendar keeps her from missing her children’s doctor appointments and sporting events. Can you imagine juggling her schedule with Fashion Runway events, her husband’s concerts and 4 children to keep track of? With all the technology we have today, I am surprised she doesn’t get up to speed and use KitchenHub Family Organizer.

This user friendly software program would allow her to use her phone to check their busy schedule. It allows for checking the weather and one’s email. All members of the family can have access to it so everyone stays on track. What a great idea! KitchenHub Family Organizer uses color coded tabs too! This software also has the capability of storing addresses, shopping lists and important medical information. These are just a few of the helpful applications of the software. A family should not be without KitchenHub Family Organizer.

Picking Out New Eye Glasses

I have blogged before how pleased I have been with the prices at Zenni Optical. Well, I can tell you that the folks at Zenni have made their website even easier to pick out new glasses. Now you can use the new Try On feature–Zenni Frame Fit and pick out the type of frame that best fits your face. It used to be that when I picked out my frames, it was a hit or miss choice and I only hoped the style I chose would look good on me. With Zenni’s new try on feature I can upload a picture of myself and try onprescription eye glasses ! That is even better than going to a brick and mortar eye glass store. By using a picture, I can try on as many pair of eye glasses as I want. No more worrying about bothering the technician with my indecisiveness! I can take my time and even try on some styles I might normally pass over. Trying on glasses has never been this fun!

This pair is one of my favorite styles. At $12.95, I can afford more than one pair. I think it will be fun to have different colored frames. Maybe, a pair to match my favorite outfits! This new try on feature might become addictive.

My Rant

Feel free to pass over this post. I want to get this out. I am sick of people at our church looking at my husband and me like we are odd because we don’t get all excited over a mission trip our church is planning. We don’t get excited because, in reality, we think our money could be better used here in the United States and these travelers are getting a glorified vacation. We keep that view to ourselves. I am sure that Haiti is in need. I know that our church members will make a difference there. Don’t count on me to fund the trip or act like we wish we were going. I am sending my money to our local Helping Hands organization. There are people in our county who don’t know where their next meal is coming from. I want to help them.

Happy Day!

My sister’s “celebration of her birth” is today. She hates the word birthday. We usually wish her a happy day. LOL

I thought about sending her an artificial plant to celebrate her day. Have you seen the flower arrangements used for weddings and receptions? Artificial flowers are so intricate, look as beautiful as the real thing and they don’t need to be watered! No watering is the best thing because my sister is busy. This is a picture of her riding her Harley.

She is also a wonderful grandma to three little girls. She sews clothes, purses, quilts and backpacks for them. She has always been a fabulous seamstress. You should see the beautiful quilts she has made. I hope she likes what I made her for her day. It has a bit of all the new things I have been learning to incorporate into my craft; Embroidery, applique and prairie points that use two colors of fabric.
