The house feels so quiet. We had such a good time over the Thanksgiving holiday. My husband and brother in-law visited a cool motorcycle museum and then headed to the casino in Michigan City. They each won a little and that made it even more fun. They ate a huge dinner at the buffet and then lost a little bit of their winnings when they revisited the slot machines.

Here is what I worked on:

One of my favorite television shows is Little People Big World. This family is a wonderful example of how families should be. The adults expect respect and dole out loving discipline. The kids accept their punishments as well as their rewards because they know their parents love them. Each enjoys a place in the family.

I am so tired of watching sitcoms where the kids are mouthy to their parents. The Roloff kids are typical kids and do let their mouths get the best of them at times. For the most part though, they are very respectful of their parents. I think they admire the obstacles their parents have overcome. They appreciate their home because they have taken part in making it. From the garden to the building projects, these kids are hands on participants.

What makes the show interesting and different is that the parents and one son have dwarfism. They face each day with challenges. Despite that, they are upbeat. I suspect that they agreed to be on a show to bring awareness to the things they deal with each day. We could all learn something from the Rolloffs.

The national news broadcasters are saying that people might be cutting back on their holiday gift giving this year but one thing they are not giving up is their love of going out to the movies. My daughter is among the thousands who saw the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.

I am not up to date on all the new game systems or games but I know a lot of people have the latest console and games that go with it. It is for all of you that I wanted to tell of something I read over at Make Memories Today. She said that her husband went to the store to return,
Guitar Hero World Tour today. They had none left and stated that of the 50 they sold 45 had already been return. It is such a wide spread problem that he decided to not bother waiting for them to get more in. So he bought Rock Band and an extra guitar since it uses a different guitar than what we already have for the regular Guitar Hero. You can visit her blog to see what her family thought of the replacement and what was wrong with the original purchase.

I am not sure if those are games or game systems but I figure that you who are into those things will benefit from this shout out.

I have been working on a quilt and finally finished it. I made this baby quilt for a family who are expecting a new baby in a few months. The new baby’s room will be done in pinks and grays. I put a soft gray fabric on the back and used different pinks to make the quilt top. I hope the prospective mom likes it!
