What You Need to Know

I received a message on my cell phone and I have not returned the call. I am not sure how to answer the question my friend is asking. She knows that I have had a blog on the Internet for a few years. She wants to know all about setting up a blog. I keep putting off calling her back because I am not an expert at setting up a blog. In fact, if she knew the hassle I went through when I set up my blog, she would know that I am not the one to turn to for guidance.

There are so many decisions to make when setting up a website. She would need to decide whether to have a blog through a free web hosting service and not have complete control over her blog. She might decide she wants to be able to advertise with her blog and need control over her content. She would have to invest some money in a hosting service.

If she decides to go with a hosting service she needs to pick one that fits her needs. There are so many that I would not know where to begin to give her advice. She needs to study all her options. Better yet, she needs to read a good web hosting blog like Webhostinggeeks.com. They have the knowledge to help her. They explain things so much better than I ever could. I wish I had known about Webhostinggeeks.com when I started my blog. I could have saved myself a lot of wasted time with the free service I began with. Now that I know what I want out of my blog, I know more what I need in hosting.

Once she reads the valuable information at the blog, then she can look at the reviews and rating page at Webhostinggeeks.com. They list the top hosting companies and then tell why and how they received their ranking. The top hosting service companies are ranked by service, quality and other criteria. Here is another time that I wish I had known about Webhostinggeeks.com. The first hosting service I went with had terrible customer service. I see that they didn’t even make it on the list at Webhostinggeeks.com.

Webhostinggeeks.com gives information about the latest news and trends concerning online hosting. I am steering my friend to their blog and website. It is time for me to return her call.

Dragon Naturally Speaking

The NY Times Review of DNS10, When Your
Computer Listens to You, tells about a revolutionary software program. This program will change the way the spoken word becomes the written word. There have been many instances of wanting to blog about something but not feeling up to typing it all out. I have trouble with headaches and often cannot stand to look at a computer screen. Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Standard is a software program that allows me to speak and the text is written for me. All I have to do is insert a bit of punctuation into my speech so that what is written is in a context that is readable. This sounds like a wonderful way to blog, write letters and even produce proposals for our business customers.

Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Preferred is showcased in the following video.

Doesn’t that look like the perfect way to get your thoughts down? It looks like the author was so relaxed and at ease while he spoke. His thoughts were put into text right before our eyes. On a good day, I can type right up there with the fastest typist. An exceptional typist averages about 90-100 words per minute. We speak at approximately 150 words per minute. Dragon Naturally Speaking can keep up with me while I speak. That means I can blog over 150 words a minute! I am excited to see how much more I can do with my day after finishing a blog entry so quickly.

Dragon Naturally Speaking is going to change the world of blogging.

Write It so They Will Read It

When you blog, do you get excited when you receive a comment? I definitely enjoy receiving comments. I banter back and forth with those who are interested in what I had to say. I am surprised when something that is written from my heart receives no comments. I am joining a project called ForumFinder to keep that from happening. ForumFinder has a comment exchange section that will bring traffic to my blog. I am excited to see how this works. From what I have been reading in the comments of other bloggers, it is a fun way to find interesting blogs and meet bloggers. I am always open to new things. I’ll let you know how I like it. Better yet, join me over at ForumFinder.
