Blogging Away

Dern. Google has spanked a few of us again. Oh well. I plan to let it roll off my back. They have no clout with me.

I have discovered so many great blogs that I simply must read every day. I have learned so much about different cultures from reading blogs from people who live in Malaysia, the Philippines and even Norway. They live just like I do! They love to read and go to concerts. I just looked up some information on the rock musical Queen because a blogger who lives near Singapore, attended the concert. I was pleasantly informed of this great venue of entertainment. Blogging means learning.

I have been amazed at how many bloggers put Bible verses on their blogs and talk about their faith. It is encouraging to see how many people know that Jesus died for them and are living their lives accordingly. In these days where all we hear on the news is doom and gloom, it is refreshing to read about people who have a positive outlook on life. I have also read a few blogs of whom the writers profess to be witches. I find those blogs interesting and learn from them. It tugs at my heart that they believe in this scary practice.

I love the blogs who give reports on coupons and savings. I have saved a bunch of money using online coupons. I have called upon many of the tech blogs I enjoy. They have helped me out of some jams with my websites. I am so glad that they have taught me so much in the way of html. Sometimes, I amaze myself at what I am able to do.

I have been blogging a long time having started with a xanga blog way back in 2002. I have grown as a blogger and keep learning!

Knocking at Privacy’s Door

Have you ever gone to YouTube to look at funny, strange and interesting videos? Did you know that Google, the company that owns YouTube, has a record of every transaction you ever made. It is not illegal to look at videos. It is not illegal to upload your own videos to YouTube. It is illegal to download videos from YouTube that have a copyright. Ruh roh. Will law enforcement agencies be knocking at your door? If you have ever downloaded copyrighted videos for your own use, you broke the law in the US.

What brought about the suit Viacom vs Google? Viacom charges Google, which bought YouTube in 2006, acts as a willing accomplice to Internet users who put clips of Viacom’s copyrighted television programs on the popular video-sharing website. Viacom, a giant in the entertainment industry, sued for rights to obtain user information in order to identify YouTube users who are committing copyright infringement. They say that users who upload their own videos are small in numbers compared to those who use YouTube to download copyrighted material.

This is just one more way our privacy is being invaded.

Relying on Wifi

Today flew by so quickly. It helps when you come to work at one in the afternoon! I like that schedule. I attended a class to learn all about my new sewing machine. I was early and so I drove over to the nearest Starbucks. I had my laptop and thought I could get caught up on reading my emails. I never could get online at Starbucks. They wanted me to pay a fee to join a Tmobile service. Have any of you had this happen? I didn’t have very much time or I would have asked the counter help to find out what was happening. I simply drove down to Panera Bread and got online quickly. By then I had to quickly read a few email and get to my class. The instructor was late! LOL It wasn’t a problem and we had a fun time.

She’s Giving It Away

Do you remember when I wrote about my friend Elizabeth and how she reviews just about everything under the sun? Well, she does and she has so many things that reviewers have sent her to review that her cupboards are to the point where she cannot shut their doors. She has to find a home for these things so go over to her blog and find out how you can win something cool.
