We spent Memorial weekend in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It was fun. We lucked out with great weather. It rained here at home.
We ate at Mama’s Farmhouse the first afternoon of our visit. They offer a family style dinner of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole and several choices of dessert. It was wonderful. We ate early in the day and didn’t have to fight the crowds.
We drove to Gatlinburg and decided not to even get out of the car. It was so crowded. The bumper to bumper traffic made it a long time on the road but we finally made it to the lookout point where Tennessee and North Carolina meet. Oh my goodness! what an awesome view. We lucked out that the smoky mountains weren’t very smoky that day. It was amazing how far we could see and how beautiful and majestic the mountains looked.
