Meaningful Gifts

This is the time of year when we ponder over what to give as gifts to celebrate the birth of Christ. I don’t take that decision lightly! In fact, I tend to worry about what to buy. I want each recipient of my gift to know that I think highly of them. The three wise men that visited Jesus Christ when he was born, brought him gifts. From that, the tradition of giving gifts on Christmas to family and friends developed.

The gift that never goes out of style and always assures that the recipient knows you thought especially of them is a beautiful new watch. I still remember my husband talking about how he loved Seiko Watches and how he surprised me with a beautiful gold one our second Christmas together. It has little diamonds on each side of the face. I still have that watch! Buying quality has its advantages.

A quality watch does not have to be expensive. Bluedial dot com is a reputable reseller of many of the best brands, including Seiko. They offer amazingly are low prices, with FREE 2-day shipping.

When considering a special gift for a special person, consider buying a beautiful watch.

A Skaggs Family Christmas

I finally got into the Christmas spirit! Saturday night, my husband, myself and another couple went to the Honeywell Center in Wabash, IN to see Ricky Skaggs and his family perform.

I was familiar with Ricky Skaggs and had heard about the Whites but had never heard them perform together. They put on an awesome concert. It was so nice to hear about the birth of Christ through song. I could feel the testimony of Sharon White-Skaggs as a heartfelt emotion. I have to say, this concert felt more spiritual than some “christian” concerts I have been to lately. I am not saying we were preached at but the spirit was definitely amongst us all.

Ricky and Sharon’s two children and Sharon’s sister’s daughter sang with the group. Oh my goodness! They are all so talented. This group had just lost their drummer to cancer only two weeks ago! They sang a tribute to him that brought tears to my eyes.

If you like bluegrass, instrumental music and harmony, you will love this concert.

I Won’t Be the Next Candy Maker

My Oreo balls failed. I have a feeling that I stirred the chocolate too much and it reverted to a dry, crystallized mess. I froze the ball innards and will make them when my daughter, the chef, visits at Christmas.

I love Wednesdays because I only work in our store until noon. My husband and our longtime employee, Jeff, are tearing out the Quick-step display floor in our showroom. That particular floor is discontinued and, of course, when customers see it, that is the floor they like the best. We are putting down three different style and color combinations in its place. Having a display floor makes it so much easier to sell flooring.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!
