Children’s Games
I was thinking about all the games that children play on the computer and wondered, do kids play games like I played when I was little?
I loved to play jacks. The game was played with little metal pieces that were thrown on the ground. Wherever they landed made the job of picking them up more intriguing. The object was to bounce a ball, pick up as many jacks as possible before catching the ball as it came down from the air.
What games do you remember playing as a child?

I loved to play jacks too! Such a simple game but so much fun. It took skill, so we played a lot to develop that skill. Wish I had some jacks right now to see if I can still do it.

Oh wow I had forgotten about that game for eons until I read your blog. I used to play jacks too. My favorite childhood game was Shoots and Ladders. That was a lot of fun!

I remember I used to play UNO in my childhood days. Me and all of my school friends used to play UNO after school hours. I wish I could get those days back. But now yes I don’t regret for anything as now I play with my kids. I play scrabble with them. This helps them to apply their brain and also helps in sharpening and building a good vocabulary. My kids these days play better scrabble than me.

My kids have all gone crazy for Diablos in the last few years. Just 2 sticks some string and the diablo itself. They have had to practise for hours to master some of the tricks but they are pretty determined when it comes to peer pressure. Much better than an X-box !

That is funny. The picture brings back good memories. I use to harass my sister when she was trying to play jacks. I guess that is a boy game.

I never played Jacks but that’s probably because I didn’t grow up here. We used to play gummi-twist which is a strechy rope around two kids’ knees standing opposite each other. The third kid is jumping in and out of the rope in a certain pattern. Fun times
