Now, don't get me wrong. I loved the unstructured schedule of summer. I did not love the endless fighting and cries of boredom.
When my kids left for college, my husband and I discovered that we needed cell phones. I can't count how many times were were out and about and came home to find a message on the answering machine from our kids. It was frustrating trying to call them back.

Dear Karen,
Until reading your blog, I thought that my wife and I were the only ones without a ‘real’ cell phone and lived with one tracphone. In general, I don’t like talking on the phone, but we felt we needed something in an emergency. You are right, they are pretty inexpensive.
My daughter (10) is already asking for a phone – oh brother – we might not be able to hold out for much longer! But the plans are expensive.
Keep up the great work!

I have been using this silly phone where I just keep paying so high rental charges with taxes. It’s difficult to survive with such a kind of phone. Moreover we have 2 phones at our place and frankly bearing the expenses of 2 phones becomes all the more difficult. I think even I should start using tracfone from now onwards.

Just so you know, the video is not showing up on my browser. I am considering switching to prepaid at the end of this contract, sounds like I should check out tracphone.
