Dr. Susan Lim of Singapore is a well-known, established surgeon and researcher. Her accomplishments abound. Beginning with her Colombo Scholarship to Monash University in Australia, Dr. Susan Lim of Singapore graduated with first class honors and received the David Rosenthal Memorial Prize (shared) for the highest aggregate marks in her preclinical years. In 1984 Dr. Susan Lim of Singapore was awarded the GB Ong Gold Medal for being the most outstanding candidate (shared) in the Surgical Examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). In 1985, she was awarded the Churchill Scholarship (Gulbenkian) at the University of Cambridge, where Dr. Susan Lim of Singapore received her PhD in Cell Immunology.
Worldwide Recognition For Dr. Susan Lim Of Singapore
Dr. Susan Lim’s accomplishments are not limited to academic work. She is well-known as the first surgeon to perform a successful liver transplant in Asia and as the second woman in history to do so. Twenty years later, her patient is alive and well. The patient and her son maintain a special relationship with Dr. Susan Lim of Singapore to this day. Dr. Lim is the youngest person ever to be awarded the position of Fellow of Trinity College of the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Dr Susan Lim received the Dr Mark Hoffman Award for Leadership in Graduate Medical Education by the American Academy of Continuing Medical Education. Her contribution has brought significant innovation and development in graduate medical education. This was presented to her by The Committee for Review and Recognition (CRR) in January 2007 during the Arab Health Congress 2007 in Dubai.
