I spent the week before thanksgiving getting a purse order ready. A friend asked me, in her engineering recruitment sort of way, to make a snowman purse for her and since I already sold one; I thought I might as well make a couple of the bags. I always laugh at the way my friend comes across. She means well but, if you know anyone involved in engineering Jobs, you know that they think with an analytical mind. Did you know that the Thanksgiving holiday date, the fourth Thursday of November, was not set in stone until 1941. Yep, the date got moved around and turkey day was sometimes celebrated in September or October! One of my favorite parts of the Thanksgiving meal is homemade mashed potatoes. If I had been at the first Thanksgiving dinner, the one in which the pilgrims participated, I would not have had the pleasure of heaping a pile of potatoes on my plate. Potatoes were not part of the first Thanksgiving. Irish immigrants had not yet brought them to North America! Thank you Irish!

I just heard a newscaster telling how people get stressed during the holidays and how they can avoid it. Stress can be caused by having to visit with people you don’t care to be around. It can be caused from eating too many sweets and then having to loosen your belt to accommodate your stomach.
