Direct TV Makes Business Better

We might not want to admit it but we are a nation that loves our television programs. I cannot tell you how many people posted on their Facebook page how excited they were about the new fall lineup of shows. Once the shows started on Monday, I read conversations everywhere about Dancing with the Stars. Did you see the previews for Desperate Housewives that show the newest character will be played by Vanessa Williams? Is Ugly Betty off the air? The Biggest Loser, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice are also on my list of must watch television. The new shows like Whole Truth and The Event might suck me in too. Oh my! See what I mean? We love television.

Unfortunately, most people have to accomplish tasks in the evening during the best television watching hours. We have to go to the grocery and clothes shop least our children go hungry and naked. Do businesses realize how their sales would increase if they had an Direct TV for lobby entertainment area for husbands and kids. By simply using Direct TV, wives and moms are free to shop while their husbands and kids are content! Retail stores need to take notice of how other businesses have incorporated entertainment to make their customers and clients feel comfortable. Direct TV for Hospitals and airports have made wait times not such a bad thing. Restaurants have made it fun to get together with family to watch their favorite sports team on game day by adding Direct TV. I never minded waiting for a bed at the tanning salon because I could get caught up on a favorite show because they offered Direct TV. Check out the awesome preview at http://www.dishbusiness.com/index.shtml.

Television brings us together. Direct TV makes it even better.

Seven Year Old Elsie

I was looking through our “dog junk” drawer and found both of the dog’s medical records. I am shocked that our Boston Terrier, Elsie will be seven years old next month. It seems like we just got her.

She is such a smart dog. She annoys everyone because she wants to be right up in their lap or under their blanket but they get used to her. She has stinky gas once in a while but other than those annoying qualities, she is a sweetie. Most Boston Terriers are born without a tail and if they have a tail, they are docked a few weeks after they are born. Elsie has a tail and when she is happy, it goes around like a propeller. LOL We love her.

From the American Kennel Club website:
Truly an “All-American” dog, the Boston Terrier is a lively and highly intelligent breed with an excellent disposition. Conveying an impression of determination, strength and activity, he is short-headed and compactly built, and must be black, brindle or seal with white markings.

A Look Back
Following the Civil War, the Boston Terrier breed was developed in the stables of Boston, Massachusetts, as a fighting dog. An imported dog known as “Hooper’s Judge” (sold to a Boston man in 1870) became the ancestor of almost all true modern Boston Terriers.

The breed is an American creation, resulting from a cross between an English Bulldog and a white English Terrier. In 1891, the breed became known as Boston Terriers, taking the name of the city where they originated.

Did You Miss Watching Your Favorite Show?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of TiVo. All opinions are 100% mine.

Fear no more! You can catch up on your favorite shows with TiVo Premiere. The exclusive TiVo Search and TiVo Collections features are of special interest to me because I never finished watching all the seasons of Lost and these features make it possible.

My husband likes different television shows than I do. We end up watching his shows because, frankly, I am on my computer most of the time. I do miss getting in on the conversation when my girlfriends mention the latest episode of Glee or Desperate Housewives. The commercials for the new Fall TV lineup have me excited for the new story lines for my old favorites. I am also getting interested in some of the new shows like Lone Star. The lead actor is very cute and I want to see how he pulls off two different lives. I love how simple TiVo has made watching my favorite shows even if they are on at the same time. I can already tell that my computer time will be shortened! See ya Farmville. LOL

Check out the “30 Slides in 30 Days” Sweepstakes and try your luck to win a new TiVo Slide. Enter to Win before 9/22/10 and find out what the excitement is all about. You should check out the Facebook Fan Page too. Share the excitement in not only television episodes but movies and Web video as well!

Beggar Dog

I am ashamed that our Boston Terrier, Elsie is such a beggar. My husband made her that way. The damage is done and I don’t see any way to undo it. This is Elsie trying to convince her uncle Kurby that she loves him more than the cheesecake she wants.

Loves Cheesecake

Cheesecake is one of my favorite desserts. I mentioned that we had eaten at The Cheesecake Factory in Indianapolis in celebration of my mom’s birthday. I finally downloaded pictures and found this picture of the cheesecake we bought. It was heavenly.

The vanilla colored side is their original cheesecake and the other side is their 30th anniversary cheesecake, two layers of creamy chocolate fudge cake filled with chocolate cream and finished with crunchy pearls of chocolate.
