We Needed Subtitles
to understand the movie we watched the other night. Hubby and I rented The Other Man starring Liam Neeson, Antonio Banderas, Laura Linney, and Romola Garai. The actors spoke in low tones and we had trouble catching on as to what the plot might be. We turned the volume way up and finally figured out what “might” be happening. I don’t think we are that old!

The movie had an interesting theme, what would you do if you found out that your wife had an affair. If you could find the “other” man, would you want to meet him? What would you have to say to said man? What you think you would do and what you would actually do might surprise you. I recommend this movie, if you are really bored.

If I had the patience to sit through a movie like this, probably I would discover the funny element in the plot!

Too many how?why?what? questions…maybe that is why they spoke in low tones so that everyone’s imagination would do the work for them. I would have rented this movie…but I guess not anymore.

I completely agree that sometimes movies do need subtitles even if some biggies like Antonio Banderas are working in that movie. The story line though sounds way too cliched but I would still give it a try , may be for Banderas’s sake. He lodges at top in the list of my favorite actors.
