Moooo!

Yesterday, mom and I visited Fair Oaks Farms near Winimac, Indiana. This is a fantastic place and I learned a lot about dairy farming. This video gives a short idea of what the place is like. It was not at all like the farms that are portrayed in Food, Inc. There is hope!

Free Laptop Through Charter’s Back to School Campaign

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Charter. All opinions are 100% mine.

Laptop1There are a lot of schools that are facing budget issues because of the economy. It’s kind of a scary time, but technology is continuing to advance and our students are at risk of being left behind because their schools can’t afford to keep up. Especially if they want to go to college, they could be at a disadvantage in their classes because they have not been exposed to the technology they need to use. This is a problem that needs addressed. Luckily, Charter Communications is doing something to help by offering their contest, the laptop-a-day giveaway, which will provide technology for two lucky schools. Plus, you could personally be a winner, too. Starting August 16 and going through September 20, ordering any Charter service automatically gives you a chance to win and get up to $300 cash back, or you can register online with no purchase necessary. You should nominate your favorite school and like Charter on Facebook. Charter will announce the two winning schools on September 27. I hope whatever schools are awarded the prizes through this inspirational contest are well deserving schools with worthy students who know how lucky they are to receive such an awesome gift through an inspirational contest.Visit my sponsor: Charter is giving Free laptops to Schools

I have a friend, Vickie, who blogs at Vixens Den. She has entered the CSN Stores Big Bad Bedroom Breakup contest for a $10,000 bedroom makeover. She has made it to the top 86 finalists and needs our help to make her the winner.

Vickie and her family have had a rough couple of years yet she is always looking at the bright side. I would love to see her win this beautiful bedroom makeover.

Please go to #2-Vickie in Escondido, or click on the picture above, and click on the picture of her bedroom. On the next page, click the 5th star. If you don’t belong to Facebook, click #2-Vickie in Escondido to vote.
Thanks so much for your help.

This is the picture you will need to look for and click on.

Thinking About That Cow Poop

On Saturday evening, hubby and I watched the movie, Food, Inc. I was afraid to watch it and my fears were fulfilled. I saw cows standing in their own poop and chickens so heavy that their legs would not support their bodies. In an effort to produce the most product for the least amount of money, producers are forcing farmers to use methods that are not healthy for animals. I wonder if the product we eat is full of chemicals that are causing all the cases of autism we see today.

I am only one person but I plan on buying more organic vegetables and free range meat.

Continuing Education

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ashworth College. All opinions are 100% mine.

As a young mother, I often questioned my purpose on earth. Overwhelming demands of my time stressed me to wonder what on earth I was doing. Now that my kids are grown, I feel somewhat confident, because my kids tell me I was a great mom. During that stressful time, I found that when I did something for myself, I felt better about my situation as a whole. I found time to take interior design courses that not only helped me in our business but made me feel like an adult with purpose.

Thirty years later, it seems easier to get an education or even take courses towards an Online degree. There are so many subjects to study that most anyone can find something of interest. Just think what a good example is set when your children see you reading and studying. They see that a mind is valuable and will want to set their own goals as high as you have.

A great example of schools that go out of their way to make education possible for everyone is Ashworth College. They offer the flexibility of studying at home while you care for your kids. They are affordable and offer payment plans. They offer more than 100+ nationally accredited career diplomas. That means they have something for you!
