Pebbles and Pearl

My sister is visiting and she brought her two puppies, Pebbles and Pearl, with her. They are adorable and very well behaved. It has been fun watching them interact with our two rotten dogs. They all four get along very well. When Mom brought her dog, Suzi, over to join in on the fun, she sat around and watched the other four as if she was the queen bee. The younger dogs must sense that Suzi is old because they just leave her alone while they frolic. The only problem we have had is with Elsie, our Boston Terrier. She thinks she needs to steal everyone’s chew toys and claim them for herself. Silly dog.

I Won!

There are a few blogs that I read every day and one of them is Val’s blog at Mom Knows Everything. A few weeks ago, she had a giveaway for a Lady Foot Locker gift certificate. I need new running shoes so much. In fact, I am afraid that I am damaging my feet because I continue to wear a pair of tennis shoes that no longer support my feet the way they should. I just never seem to set aside the money to get a decent pair of shoes but now the money is there for me. Thanks Val and thanks Lady Foot Locker!

I am so excited that I went to Lady Foot Locker’s website to find a location near me. I also found advice on how to get a shoe that fits.

• Do your ankles slant inward with very little space between your arch and the floor? If so, you most likely have an overpronated foot type with flat feet. You should look for women’s running shoes with motion control or stability features for maximum support.
• Do your ankles slant outward, placing more of your weight on the outside of the foot? This means you probably have an underpronated foot type with high, rigid arches. Opt for cushioned women’s running shoes with flexible soles to add extra shock absorption to your gait.
• Little or no slant in your ankles when standing indicates a neutral foot type. Select from neutral women’s running shoes without extreme motion control, stability or cushioned features for the best fit and performance.

I am armed with money and knowledge! I could be very dangerous!

Patio Furniture!

I have decided that after a week of almost eighty degree temperatures, summer is finally here. I may even put my coat away!

When summer arrives, I am anxious to get the lawn furniture out of the shed and clean it. It is always covered with cobwebs and sometimes has a bit of mildew growing on the cushions. I try to saturate the cushions on both sides with cleaning solution to make them feel clean. No matter how hard I try though I cannot get them looking and feeling clean. I will never again buy outdoor furniture that has stuffed cushions covered with mesh fabric. Lesson learned.

I have been looking at patio furniture at PatioFurnitureBuy.com and see there are better suited styles of patio furniture than the ones I am seeing in our local stores. They specialize in custom made products, offering hundreds of finish colors, fabric designs, cushion trim options. I am especially fond of their aluminum sling styled furniture.

Their cast aluminum furniture is constructed using only the highest grade, and most resilient aluminum ingots available strengthening the furniture and making it extremely malleable. That makes it suitable for hard use when those larger members of the family visit. The seating area, sling portion, is also available in many different fabrics making it easy to incorporate with other furniture.

They offer friendly customer service and will answer any questions you might have by answering your email or through your phone call made to their toll free number toll free phone at 888-862-1777.

PatioFurnitureBuy.com offers FREE shipping throughout the contiguous United States on orders of $500 or more. If you find the same product at a better price, they will match or beat it. Your purchases are safe when placing an order through their secured website.

So, you have quality products at excellent prices, reasonable shipping costs and the convenience of ordering from a reputable, secure online business! It sounds like a winner to me!

NMEDA Leads Disabled to Independence

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

My mom has been getting her house ready for company. My aunt and uncle will be arriving from California in a few days. There are beds to be made and toilets to clean but those have not been the difficult tasks to accomplish. Those are the easy tasks.

My uncle is disabled. That makes getting around very difficult. We started looking around mom’s house and realize that it is going to be difficult for Uncle Bill to get into the house let alone move from room to room. Have you ever thought about the obstacles the disabled face on a day to day basis?

Fortunately a NMEDA dealer can help the elderly or disabled get back onto the road of independence. NMEDA, “National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association”, has been a godsend for many families. What is NMEDA? They are an association that promotes safe driving and equipment for disabled people. They do not sell anything. They are non-profit and their members are required to adhere to the safety standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. NMEDA dealers (members) are the ones who sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people.

The NMEDA also has Quality Assurance Program (QAP) dealers who insure the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry meets accreditation standards.

What does this mean to those families of disabled persons? The NMEDA assists the elderly or disabled and enables them to get back onto the road of independence. Visit the website at nmeda.org to find a qualified dealer near you. By simply entering our zip code, I was able to find over 20 mobility dealers in our state!
