Spring and Pesky Rabbits

Photobucket
I know I will probably sound like Elmer Fudd as he yells at those “pesky wabbits” but they are making me mad. I only have a few tulips that come up and the rabbits eat them before I get to enjoy them. Pesky wabbits!

I am so excited to see how green things have become. We traveled to Van Wert, Ohio yesterday to visit my husband’s aunt. The un-mowed yards were just luscious and the flower beds were beaming with jonquils, daffodils and tulips.

Every year my husband and I bonk ourselves on the head for not putting out the flower bulbs we say we will plant come fall. Fall arrives and we forget! My husband reminded me this weekend that we have to get bulbs planted. We love the flowers and the feeling of renewal we get when we see them.
Henry Fields Seed Nursery has an online order form and I intend to get it filled out immediately. Does anyone know how to store flower bulbs until fall? I have a brown thumb and need all the advice I can get!

Good Friday

When I worked in town at a bank, I remember having 3 hours off from work during the afternoon on Good Friday. I had never really been exposed to this holiday until then. Every Good Friday that I can remember has been a peaceful day. I wonder why that is. Do people ponder on what happened on this day so many years ago; Christ’s crucifixion and death?

I think upon Jesus while he hung on the cross. He must have been in a lot of pain. I appreciate what he did so that I can live a life full of hope.

Have a wonderful day today.

Although the contest has ended, I got a kick out of visiting the website for the Gotta See This Now iLASIK Video Contest. There are some very talented videographers with cool and inventive ideas about the benefits of Lasik eye surgery. Entrants made videos showing the impact of improved vision on their lives for a chance to win cash and prizes — including a $5,000 Grand Prize. The contest was sponsored by Abbott Medical Optics Inc.

I am already sold on Lasik eye surgery, having had the surgery done myself a few years ago. It has been wonderful to wake up in the morning and see the world without having to put on a pair of glasses. No longer do I have to deal with my glasses fogging up when coming out of doors into a warm building. I also love being able to see underwater when swimming in the ocean. What an amazing view there is to behold when you can actually see!

There were three categories in the iLASIK Video Contest.

Category 1: My Contacts Are Getting In The Way Of My Good Time
Category 2: My Favorite Sport Or Activity Would Be So Much Cooler With Better Vision
Category 3: You Should See Life After The iLASIK® Procedure

Here is one of the videos from a first place recipient:

Congratulations to the winners! All the videos were awesome, in my opinion, making the participants all winners in my book.

Have a Blessed Easter

Photobucket
Our weather has finally turned nice; temperatures in the high 70′s. I have seen people wearing shorts and flip flops so I know that they are ready for the nice weather to stay put.

We will be taking my mother in-law to visit her sister in Ohio on Easter Sunday. It is fun to listen to them reminisce and argue over matters that seem frivolous to me. They could disagree on the color of a house and treat the argument the same as the health care debate. LOL

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

The Path of Change

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of USC. All opinions are 100% mine.

I can’t get out of my head the thoughts of my friends who have lost their jobs. I know that, mentally, they are struggling to hold on to the faith that things will work out. One positive aspect of the change in our lives is that some of us are taking the jump that we always said we would take but seemed to never find the time.

Taking time to add to a degree is something we know we should do and now the opportunity is even better with the availability of online resources from USC Rossier School of Education’s MAT@USC. A Master of Arts in Teaching degree will put your resume at the top of the stack when searching for the job of your dreams. Reading over the program information at USC Rossier School of Education’s website accentuates the reasons for earning your degree online.

• Groundbreaking tuition reimbursement program

• Accelerated program you can complete in as little as 12 months

• Opportunity to become a part of the elite USC Trojan Family

• Tuition reimbursement and scholarships

• MAT@USC Student Blog, hear insights about the program from actual students

• Rossier and the MAT@USC were awarded by AACTE for innovative use of technology in education

• Technology video that introduces the interactivity of the program

• First cohort of the MAT@USC graduate in May

The USC Trojan family is one of pride. Their a 100-year history of educating teachers to be agents of change is making a difference in not only lives of teachers but the lives of students as well.

Is it time for you to accentuate your position in your field?
