Good Friday
When I worked in town at a bank, I remember having 3 hours off from work during the afternoon on Good Friday. I had never really been exposed to this holiday until then. Every Good Friday that I can remember has been a peaceful day. I wonder why that is. Do people ponder on what happened on this day so many years ago; Christ’s crucifixion and death?

I think upon Jesus while he hung on the cross. He must have been in a lot of pain. I appreciate what he did so that I can live a life full of hope.
Have a wonderful day today.

I think that for many people in the Western world Easter and in particular Good Friday has lost much of its meaning, a situation that is not helped by commercial exploitation of the Easter holidays. My sister in law is Polish, and in Poland Easter is probably the biggest Christian holiday of the year (yes bigger than Christmas). Perhaps we could all do with pondering on why the rest of us let Easter pass comparatively unobserved.

It does seem sometimes that emphasis is placed on egg hunts and having pretty new clothes to wear instead of the most meaningful thing of all – how Jesus died, was resurrected and gives us hope like you mentioned, Karen. Hope that the world can’t take away from us! Such a blessing!
