Vixen’s Aprons

Photobucket
Wow! A few days of sunshine and we are all getting busy! No one is busier than my friend Vixen over at Apron Frenzy. Vixen desperately wants to attend Bloggy Boot Camp in AZ on May 1st and is producing beautiful spring aprons. She hopes that everyone will buy a beautiful apron and help fund her trip! She is even offering to get them shipped quickly if you are trying to have a beautiful apron for a hostess gift or for yourself this Easter Sunday.

I ordered one of Vixen’s aprons at Christmas and I can tell you that they are gorgeous and made with extreme precision. You will love an apron from Apron Frenzy.

Hormel Recipe to Cheer On the Dawgs

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hormel Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hubby has decided, and I agreed, that we need to have a party! In celebration of Butler’s victory and their entry into the final four basketball tournament, it is time to party! This Saturday is the Final Four tourney that will be held in Indianapolis. Sorry to say, we cannot afford tickets to attend the game being held so close to our home so, we will do the next best thing: watch the game in the comfort of our living room. Our friends are caught up in our enthusiasm and so we will all gather and cheer on the Bulldogs.

Now, to plan this affair. The only thing I really need to do is make sure our Butler sweatshirts are clean and plan what food I will make.

My son introduced me to mini corn dogs this past weekend and they are a must have on the menu. I also plan to have one of the staples from my childhood, Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches. There is a terrific recipe at the hormel website. Hormel’s recipe site is where I find many of my favorite recipes for holidays and celebrations. My mom made yummy Beef Roast Au Jus sandwiches similar to these so I know they will fill everyone up and be easy to prepare.

Hormel® chili and Dinty Moore® products were always a staple in our house while growing up. In fact, I can remember wanting to eat Hormel® chili because a certain, cute, popular, football celebrity promoted it! Hey, I was a teenage girl and pretending to like football was my goal.

I hope you are all as excited as we are about the NCAA tournament and, even if you are not, enjoy comfort foods from recipes using Hormel® chili and Dinty Moore®.

Butler Bulldogs

Go Dawgs!
Photobucket
We visited my son and his wife in St. Louis this past weekend. They both graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis. In fact, that is where they met.

Butler was playing in the Elite 8 on Saturday so we went with the kids to Buffalo Wild Wings to meet with other Butler grads to watch the game. OMG!!! Can I just say that the game was so exciting that I almost fell off my chair while cheering? It was a nail bitter.

The Butler Bulldogs, “Dawgs”, won and now they will play against Michigan in the final four which is being held in Indianapolis this Saturday.

To Sleep Like a Baby

It is fun to think about how things were when I was a child. I had certain jobs that I didn’t mind but there was one chore I hated. I absolutely hated to take out the trash. It seemed as if it was always dark when the trash needed to go out. You know what that meant. It meant running as fast as possible to get that trash out there, into the can, the lid back on and back into the house where it was safe. I don’t know what I thought was going to get me but I was afraid of the unknown.

One thing I thought I got away with was staying up at night. We lived in an old farm house and when it was time for bed, I can remember watching television by peering through the heating grates in the floor of my upstairs bedroom. I also used to take a flashlight to bed with me and read until the wee hours of the night.

Those of you with children, are probably wise to the tricks children play when trying to avoid what we adults would love to have more of: sleep.

If you are dreaming about giving your kids a cozy place to sleep, I would like to let you know about Kids Furniture Mart Coupons. Kids Furniture Mart is the premier online retailer of kids beds, including kids bunk beds and kids trundle beds. Right now, there is a $15 off any $150 purchase deal and a $10 off any $75 purchase deal!

Kids may think we don’t know what is going on when we hope they are sleeping but we certainly know how to save money when shopping!

Mall Turtles

What is it about turtles that makes them so much fun to watch? I think they are smart creatures. They look so prehistoric with their scaly legs and hard shell. Beautiful to behold.
