Needed: New Wardrobe

Fall weather is definitely here in Indiana. I broke down and put my sandals away. It is time to get out the sweatshirts, sweaters and long pants. The trouble is, my fall things don’t excite me. I need some new clothes. I am looking online at my favorite store, Talbots, and I am getting in the mood to change my style! LOL

Okay, let’s say, for the fun of the moment, I received a $500 gift card from my favorite store, Talbots! Here are a few of the items I would buy.

I absolutely love the swanky look of this beautiful sweater. I think it might even be as comfortable as my pajamas! It would definitely be an improvement over my flannel shirt.

Isn’t this a stunning look? I love the way the whole outfit comes together with pieces that look great on their own.

These boots would be the perfect way to complete the outfit.

What do you think of my choices? I always feel refreshed when I get new things to wear. A new wardrobe certainly makes the change in weather a bit more bearable.

Talbots makes me not want to avoid winter! And, speaking of Talbots, be sure to check out their fun red chair confessions series on their new blog. It is very entertaining.

Four Foods on Friday #89

From Val's Kitchen
Val has me thinking a bit about her question for Four Foods on Friday. What would you answer?

What four foods do you never tire of? What foods would you eat every day if you could?

Here are my answers:

1. Hawaiian pizza
2. Reeses cups
3. Heath bar Blizzard
4. apple crisp with ice cream on top

Learning to Cook

I just read on someone’s blog that there are only 85 days left until Christmas! E gads, that is a short amount of time. I am just getting out my fall decorations and putting the fourth of July patriotic stuff away. I don’t even want to think about shopping for Christmas gifts! Thank goodness, we have been invited to our son and daughter in-law’s house for Thanksgiving dinner.

I never have felt comfortable fixing Thanksgiving dinner. There are so many dishes that are sentimental to me for that dinner. I always think I have to have a turkey, sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie. They are all dishes that take a while to make. I want to buy them ahead and feel relaxed at dinner. Instead, I find myself stressed because I don’t know if I am making things the way they should be made. Understand?

I would love to take advantage of the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel‘s Cooking School Weekend. Can you imagine how much fun and informative that weekend would be? Hilton’s chef, Chef Nathan Read, will be giving a cooking demonstration. The schooling also includes learning how to cook a lavish four-course dinner and how to match up wines to the dishes served. This type of instruction would certainly give me the confidence needed to cook a holiday dinner.

This would be a great package for hubby and I to take advantage of. For one thing, we need a getaway. For another, the school will be held October 16th and 17th, which is the most beautiful time to visit Branson. The cost of just $398.00 plus tax is certainly reasonable for such deluxe accommodations. I am going to research this a bit more! You should take a look at this great package!
