Halloween Crafts

One thing I miss about not having kids at home any longer, (mine are adults and live elsewhere), is making crafts with them. Something just doesn’t feel right about carving a pumpkin without them. If you have children and they tend to whine about being bored, you should check out the post, Kids Love Halloween Crafts, on Squidoo. Making crafts with your kids is something they will enjoy during the moment and remember for a lifetime.

I know what you mean. Things seem different when our kids are gone. Our youngest is a freshman in college, and it has been a huge adjustment for me. I’ve really had to deal with the empty nest syndrome! We won’t have our kids or grandkids here for Halloween. We plan to go help with the Fall Festival at church that night, so that will be good.

Those crafts look like so much fun to make. For me, Miss NonCrafty, it would be a horror. Get it?

This is actually something I miss as well. Though, not having been a parent yet myself, I miss doing these types of things with my mom and dad at Halloween time. So, I as a thirtysomething adult, I feel the same but on the opposite side.

I fully understand how you feel. The feeling of longing for your children is such an awful thing because it makes you miss them more. Having them beside you already makes you calm and secured. Seeing those Halloween crafts of yours almost brought me to tears.

I know the feeling too. I find it so hard to throw away egg boxes, cereal cartons and the like, but my sons left home ages ago, and now I’m eyeing up my new granddaughter as a substitute. At three weeks old, she may have to wait a while.

Thank you so much for this hat tip to my Squidoo lens, Karen! I really appreciate it! I’m already feeling that same feeling, because, my kids are in high school and way to busy to ‘craft with mom’. Bummer!!
