What’s In A Number?

September 9 is the 252nd day of the year (253rd in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 113 days remaining until the end of the year. Interesting? I love the numbers game. What makes today’s date even more interesting is that it is 09/09/2009. We won’t be seeing that again.
I read this amazing article at Wisconsin’s Lacrosse Tribune.
The third child of local couple Chuck and Polly Berendes was born at 9:09 a.m. on Sept. 9 and weighed, of course, 9 pounds, 9 ounces at birth.
“I don’t know how it happened, but it’s pretty crazy,” Chuck Berendes, 29, told the paper.
The couple joked about the possibility of a triple-nine birthday when Polly’s doctor scheduled a C-section. Chuck even suggested how funny it would be if the baby arrived at 9:09 a.m.
He told the Tribune he forgot about the numbers until after little Henry was put on the scales for the first time.
“They measure in metric and the doctor did the math in his head, but to be sure, he had the nurse convert it,” he told the paper. “When she said 9 pounds, 9 ounces, I started laughing and he started laughing.”
Another reason to celebrate September 9, 2009:
On September 9, 2009, after a nearly 22-year wait, digitally remastered versions of all of the Beatles studio albums will be released, a press release has confirmed. Each album will feature the track listings and artwork as it was originally released in the U.K. and come with expanded booklets including original and newly written liner notes and rare photos. For a limited time, each of the Fab Four’s 12 proper albums will be “embedded” with a brief documentary about its making. The re-releases will include the Beatles’ 12 studio albums and Magical Mystery Tour as well as Past Masters Vol. I and II, which will be packaged as one collection. All 14 discs will be available with DVDs of the documentaries in a stereo box set, and a set titled The Beatles in Mono featuring 10 discs will also be released.

I love the Beatles! To get one of the packages would be incredible when I get some bucks! Of course, they don’t need any more money but they are gonna make a mint!

I was a substitute teacher at a high school this week, and as I was writing the date on the board (9-9-09), I thought that was cool. Students thought so too. That’s really something about the baby being born on 9-09 and weighing 9 lbs, 9 oz. What are the chances of something like that happening?

My husband and I were just discussing why 9-9-09 was such a big deal. Now we know! Thanks.

There is a couple in Atlanta whose son was born on 09-09-09, and their daughter was born on 08-08-08. I thought that was pretty cool.

A lot of excitement over the re-release of the Beatles CDs. I feel a bit cheated — I ran out and bought all of the albums when they were released on DVD back around 1987. Looks like I’ll be out some more money.
Oh well…

Last year 8-8-08 seemed to be the choice wedding day. I like the baby story here, and the Beatles , can’t get enough of that!

They should name the baby after one of the Beatles songs, I would have suggested Jay from “Blue Jay Way.”
I got Magical Mystery Tour when the remastered versions came out, I also bought the White Album for my brother and his wife because they were moving to Colorado. I thought it would be a good road trip album for them to listen to.
My favorite album is their Magical Mystery Tour, I felt like it was this album that the Beatles began to express their artistic side and thankfully, because they were famous that people started to take them more seriously as artists.
Music nowadays are disposable, we almost hear a new hit every week like we take it for granted. The Beatles are gods haha, well I mean, “who can make 300 hits that have their own unique sound to it.” quoting from my co-worker who was lucky enough to grow up when the Beatles were around. “it’s like four gods came to earth and changed the world.”
