Four Foods on Friday #84
Woo hoo! It is Friday! Time for my favorite meme. Four Foods on Friday If you would like to participate, click on the little picture and you will be taken to Val’s blog.
1. What’s your favorite flavor of Italian Ice?
I don’t think I have ever had Italian Ice. What makes it different from a snow cone?
2. Watermelon. So you prefer seeded or seedless? I love a deep red, juicy slice of seedless watermelon.
3. Ice cream. Do you prefer soft serve or hard?
I love Blizzards made with soft ice cream but they hurt my stomach. I take a chance and have one now and then. My favorite ice cream is chocolate mint chip or black cherry hard ice cream.
4. Ice pops. What kind is your favorite?
Are ice pops the one inch by six or eight inch tubes that you squeeze to get the frozen pop up to the top? If so, my fav is cherry.

Ty for the definition. Now I know!!
I equated ice pops the same way you did. If that’s not them then I’m lost on that again lol

ROFL, yeah I don’t actually “spit”, I politely “pop” them into a napkin. You know, I don’t think I’ve had watermelon in YEARS now that I really think about it!
On the ice pop thingys, I took it to mean these:

Yum! I LOVE black cherry ice cream, I haven’t had that in forever!

I too was confused by all the different types of ice’s. I guess if you like a particular flavor, it doesn’t really matter if it’s ice cream or ice pops or italian ice, no? *shrugs*

You are clearly not from the Philadelphia area! Though we call Italian ice “water ice.” Which really cracks up people not from around here. There is Polish water ice and Italian water ice. The difference is the consistency. Italian ice is served in big tubs like ice cream and scooped up the same way, though since it’s made with water and not cream, it’s a different consistency. It’s different from a sno-cone because the flavor is added before freezing, not just sprinkled on after. Polish ice is to Italian as soft-serve ice cream is to hard. Polish ice is just a little thicker than, say, a Dunkin Donuts coolata. Same idea, but a little thicker consistency–more like a milkshake.
Not that I’m obsessed or anything! But they are awesome summer treats around here. Happy August and thanks for visiting my blog!
