Do Your Job Obama
Does it bother anyone else that President Obama felt he had the time to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno? It bugs me to think that he has time to jaunt around the country at the tax payers expense when so many people are worried about losing their jobs. He should be working with our congress men and women. Maybe if they took the time to really work on their proposed stimulus plans, they wouldn’t be full of loopholes that only help the businesses who are failing because of greed.
Another thing that really sticks in my craw is what was said on Leno. Our dear Mr. President, who should know first hand about stigmas and prejudices, should be more considerate of all our citizens. That includes the citizens with special needs. My friend Val said it better than I could ever blog. You can read her post at An Apology Isn’t Enough.
As a leader, President Obama needs to set an example. Sure, mistakes are made. He made a big one and he needs to publicly apologize.

I totally agree with you. When I heard he was appearing on Leno, I said to my husband, doesn’t he have more important things to do right now! And then when we heard his comment about the special olympics, it was like a smack in the face. My niece has special needs, and I was offended by his remark. You would think that he being part black and subjected to prejudice all his life that he would be more sensitive to others – it just goes to show that everyone has prejudices; your true thoughts tend to come out when you’re in a relaxed atmosphere and joking around, like on Leno. Special needs people deserve not to be joked about by our President of all people! Thanks for posting this, as you won’t hear about it on the mainstream media coverage.

Very unpresidential president. When he’s not busy snubbing the British prime minister or flubbing a St. Patrick’s Day event with the Irish leader Obama goes on TV and is an arrogant smart-mouth.
I’m mad at NBC and Jay Leno too. They should not let their TV program be used for political means. Obama is a user. If Obama wants TV time let him buy it like other advertisers.

I so agree with you! I don’t think it is right for him to be joking about the economy and saying that people should be ok with their pay cuts while he ‘spends our way out of the recession’. I watched his 60 minutes episode and I am really uneasy about how he doesn’t seem to know what he is going to do with the Gitmo detainees.

I agree wholeheartedly. It bothers the hell out of me. I also saw him on ESPN filling out his march madness bracket. DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE!

Not to mention him appearing on ESPN filling out his NCAA bracket. Why does everything he does seem to make the news?

Oh this is all the same thing happening again. Mr. President has so much time, to go to Leno show. Whats happening, are we watching a circus?
