Walking in Breckenridge
My husband and I are vacationing in Breckenridge, Colorado. We have been enjoying ourselves although it took a little bit of time, water and ibuprofen to get over the altitude sickness we felt our first day here.
We have been walking a lot and have to be careful because there is ice on the sidewalks. The weather was a beautiful 70 degrees today. We actually got hot wearing our heavy coats. We went on a search today to find souvenirs for our family. There are tons of t-shirt shops. It reminds me of Pigeon Forge, TN and Myrtle Beach, SC. Every shop has the same thing! The trick is to find the best price.
We ate lunch at a French Bakery. We had a ham and cheese crepe. I didn’t know there was another type of crepe besides sweet ones. The one we had was made with buckwheat flour. It was yummy. We enjoyed talking to the baker about his business. He pays $4800 per month in rent for his shop! He must have to sell a lot of pastries to pay that kind of rent each month. He said that is how it is in Breckenridge.
Here is a picture of the French Bakery:

Breckenridge is a wonderful place. I had problems with the altitude as well but it subsided within a day. And I do remember a lot of the shops had some of the same merchandise, it was all very nice though. Regards!

Oh, Karen, I wish I had known y’all were going to Breckenridge!! I would have hidden in your suitcase. LOL We love to go to Breckenridge in the summer. We haven’t been since ’06 and I’m wanting to go really, really bad. Post lots of pictures for me.
(We don’t ski but we like to go up where the ski lift area is and go to the very top. The view is breathtakingly beautiful. And during the summer we like to do the human maze that is up there too. That’s a lot of fun!)

I have been wondering what people do here in the summer time. I know there is river rafting and shopping. Now, what is this human maze thing?? Is there a link telling about it? I would love to blog about it on my travel blog.

Did you ski? I use to ski in several Colorado resorts but never Breckenridge. I bet the snow is gorgeous but ….you see lots of snow in your hometown don’t you?

I love savoury crepes! I believe they originated in Brittany and called gallettes when made from buckwheat. Good for people with wheat intolerance.

After being on crutches for 6 months 2 years ago (foot surgery and other calamities) I won’t take the risk of injury from skiing. I loved to ski.

Gallettes! I will have to get some recipes and try to make some.
