Nurses Fired Over Sex Toy Pictures

PhotobucketWhen I worked at a bank, we were instructed not to talk about our customers. We were not allowed to mention who was in that day. It was considered common courtesy not to blab about who came in and out of our facility. No laws had to tell us the reason behind such consideration. We knew if the situation were reversed, we would not want every Tom, Dick and Harry knowing we had been to the bank that day.

The health industry has laws concerning privacy called HIPPA laws. In Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, two nurses took pictures of an x-ray when they discovered the x-ray was a picture of a man’s rectum with a sex toy lodged in it. Now, you tell me. Do you think the nurses should have been fired for taking the pictures? You can read the article to see what one of the nurses did with the x-ray.

This is why we have to have laws. We can not depend on people to use their common senses. Many people don’t have any common sense. I don’t understand how a nurse can be lacking in the common sense area. I always thought a person had to be fairly intelligent to pass the courses to become a nurse.

I Miss my Mommy!

When my mom gets back from the warm south, we have some catching up to do. She insists that we visit Dairy Queen regularly. I have not been there since she flew to the warmer climate.

Dairy Queen launched their first-ever permanent value menu – DQ® Sweet Deals.

Just in case you haven’t heard yet, here’s the deal: You can mix and match nine menu items, choosing two for $3, three for $4 or four for $5. You have the freedom of choice with more than 20,000 combinations.

I think they should hold a contest and after teaching us how to make the perfect signature curl on a DQ soft serve cone, see who can make the prettiest cone. The winner gets free products!

I heart DQ! and my mommy.

Having a Baby?

How many times have you wished that someone would find a cure for all those diseases which rob us of the best life has to offer? So many tragedies invade our lives as we know of someone else who is stricken with cancer or dementia. We want to stomp our foot and cry foul. Life is just not fair at times. We may not be able to solve life’s problems in one swoop but we can be proactive about our health.

We have new information concerning saving cord blood through the Cryo-Cell Cord Blood Bank and how it can be used to treat over 75 diseases. Umbilical cord blood holds stem cells that have been used in thousands of transplants!

If you are pregnant or know of someone who is, please tell them about this technology and have them enroll now in the Cyro-Cell program. If they sign up and deliver by February 28th, (special arrangement have been made to speed the kit to you at no additional charge), they will receive these special offers:

UCORD $300 off, Protect Baby, Protect Mom $400 off

The simple act of collecting cord blood may hold the key to saving your child’s or another family member’s life.

Walk for Breast Cancer

PhotobucketOne of my most favorite people is Paula Deen. While I do not know her personally, I love the person she projects through her shows. I believe her to be an honest, loving person. I appreciate that she genuinely cares for people.

Paula Deen is the honorary chairperson for the Savannah Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series is the world’s largest and most successful education and fund raising event for breast cancer. Since its origination in 1983, the Komen Race for the Cure Series has grown from one local Race in Dallas with 800 participants to a global series of more than 120 Races with over 1.5 million people expected to participate in 2008-09. The Race Series has also grown internationally with events in Germany, Italy and Puerto Rico.

Another person that I admire is my friend Laurie. Laurie is, again, raising funds for her race for the cure walk in Dallas. Please go to her website at Our 3 Day and see what she is doing to raise awareness and funds in the fight to find a cure for breast cancer. Mark her blog in your favorites because she has great giveaways and fun while she keeps us informed of her challenge this year. Kudos to Laurie!
