Heads or Tails #66 Anything You Do With Your Hands

The topic for this weeks “Heads or Tails” is Anything you can do with your hand(s). I have always admired those people who know how to sign. My son and his fiance like to sign to each other. I hope they aren’t complaining about my dinner!
I am curious, do you know how to sign? If so, when did you learn?

Join the fun and visit Heads or Tails.

I don’t know how to sign, but I do know some… enough to communicate very simple concepts, or I can resort to finger-spelling in a pinch. I wanted to learn, so when I was in university I took intro and intermediate “manual communication”. After a year of sign language instruction, my skills are extremely limited.

I bet they love your cooking!!!!
I learned how to sign the alphabet in school. I always thought it would be nice to know more than that.

I do know how to sign….well, let me say I used to be able to sign…my grandson was born with Down Syndrome and he didn’t ‘talk’ with the tongue for some time…so, we all learned to do sign language. He since then has learned to talk with speech therapy and the signing has stopped for our family.
My “hands” Heads or Tails is posted. But you’ll need to scroll below the last of my King’s Ranch series.

My mom would have love this picture. Unfortunately I don’t know how to sign but my youngest daughter was taught in Kingergarten and first. It’s a shame the school did not continue with it. My mom wants to put her in a school to learn. I happen to find it beautiful to watch.
Thanks for posting and keep coming back,

I learned a few ASL signs in middle and high school, because many of my friends took ASL classes, but I wish I had learned more.

I can sign a little bit, but I;m not proficient. My mother taught me because she’s got a hearing impediment and is now considered profoundly deaf.

More sign language is one of the things we’re pushing for my son to get in school. He knows a little but he needs a lot more, and we need to be able to understand it.

Signing is the best personal identity possibly no other person possesses. It is used in most of the paper documents as an authority, allowance, consent and much more. But good signing with quality comes with a lot practice and I have achieved it.

As a teenager I babysat for a lady who was deaf so I learned a little. I have also learned quite a bit teaching my daughters to sign. It is a great for babies to communicate and it seems to have helped them build a good vocabulary at a young age.
