Almost Over
One More Day. Thank goodness we only have one more day to listen to all the campaign rhetoric. Our county has had 3000 people vote at the courthouse. This is something new this year. Being able to vote early was only available through absentee voting. It was nice to get it out of the way. There were only 3 people ahead of me in line so it went very quickly. I read in today’s newspaper that the lines were long on Saturday and Sunday. I didn’t know they were open on Sunday. I am so glad people are voting. This has been a milestone of an election.

It seems like the election has been going on for so long.. how long is a campaign on average? How many days have people had to vote?? I am also glad that people are bothering to vote… people died to give us all this right and we should, out of respect, take an interest. We should also WANT a say in the way our country is run.. although these days these passionate people are few and far between! Marina

The campaigning started so early this time. I think it was actually two years that we have been listening to why each candidate thinks they should be elected. Then it got down to the final two who won the primary. I am glad we have the right to vote. It is a privilege and many have died for our right to do so. Is your blog in German? Do you live in the US?

This was my first time to participate in early voting and I loved it! I walked right in without having to wait in line. The weekends were a much different story, they were lined up outside the building!
DH has to vote tomorrow because his registration didn’t become valid until today. Early voting here ended on Friday.

Record turnouts expected here in New Jersey today. It’s a shame that so many people that complain don’t vote, isn’t it.
