Grrr. The V key on my keyboard popped off. Should I use super glue to put it back on? Will that hurt my computer?
What makes me mad is that I just got my laptop back from HP and they put a new keyboard on it. I have only had it back for a week. I am getting disgusted with the quality of HP laptops.

I had an HP laptop for all of one week before the power supply stopped working- they’re known for that. I don’t know if I would use superglue or not- it should just pop back in- the keys on my Gateway do- is there not a slot that will snap it back in place?

I agree with Beth; the key should pop back in. I’ve actually removed keys to clean beneath them.
I also had a power supply for an HP laptop quit, about two days after I had bought it. The replacement laptop, however, is still going strong after 5-6 years. I think the soldering breaks loose inside. It’s a common complaingt with laptops– I hope the manufacturers got it through their heads that a little careful soldering is less expensive than replacing people’s new laptops!

Set it on top of where it’s supposed to be and press down hard. Usually, they will “snap” back into place.

That stinks!
I’d give it back to the people that fixed it and tell them to fix it.
Hmmm, how ever will you type Val, or valmg, or valsviews? LOL.

I know! I cannot live without my V key! I centered it on the keyboard and pressed down and it popped right back on. I didn’t know they did that. Now I know.

The J on my HP laptop popped out but hubby used a tweezer to put it latch it back on.

Did your J stay on after that? I am afraid all my keyboard letters are going to start popping off!
