It Was a Big Bad Cat
A sports star in New York was awakened by his fiance’s cat. It angered him so much that he beat the cat and killed it. The news went on and on to describe what the man did to the cat. I won’t repeat it here. It was disgusting. It makes me wonder if he did that to a cat, what he would do if angered by a small defenseless child.
Aside from the horrific deed, what angers me is that the court, or I should say a court appointed jury, let him remain a free man. According the the story in the Star Tribune, the baseball player says he acted in self defense. Give me a break. He should have received the maximum punishement for this felony charge — aggravated cruelty to an animal — which carries a penalty of up to two years in prison.

I’m glad you left out the details – even though I read about them in the Star Tribune. I’m sorry, but even if you kicked and swatted at a cat, it wouldn’t cause that much damage unless you kept attacking it. That does not sound like an accident and it’s a shame that he doesn’t get jail time. Here is the real kicker, “…brutally killing a cat in a jealous rage after complaining that his ex-girlfriend cared more for the furry feline than she did for him.” Yea he said that and then the cat wound up dead. Coincidence? I think not.

A sad story.
I agree.
Unfortunately, murder and rape seem to be less penalized in New York courts. However, tax evaders and thieves get the maximum penalty. That’s what the news stories seem to be saying to me…

Are you freaking kidding me? How disgusting. I’m sick just thinking about how he got away with that….
