She had been used as a breeder but had heartworm, so they must have decided to dump her after her last batch of puppies. She was still swollen from having nursed. :( We took her in, went thru the painful process of curing her heartworm, and now she's my "puppy." I just love her and I love how much she loves me. =) I vowed we’d never have a dog…until someone abandoned a beagle at our business. I have always been a cat person and had three different unique cats when I was a child I bonded with... a hateful little female cat, a wonderful genius male cat whose life ended early due to a car, and a fat old tom I adored. Now as an adult I thought my kids would like a cat- so I adopted a 4 year old cat that was front and back declawed... I didn't do that to her, I don't believe in declawing. So anyway- she has mental issues that we weren't aware that these sort of cats have. I like her and we are good to her of course, but the bond isn't that strong, because of her obvious mental problems. But just like a person with mental problems you don't get rid of them because they're nuts. I suppose we love her-but not in a really over the top "I love my pet" sort of way. She's alright and she keeps my feet warm, but I won't be singing the blues when she kicks the bucket. Who knows ask me again in ten years and I might be in love with her.
