Dyed to Normal Again

Ahh! I feel human again. What brought about this wonderful feeling? I got my hair highlighted and the roots colored. I was feeling like a grey headed woman. It was ugly. I had this gray stripe down my part and it was growing every day. Some of you look wonderful with gray hair, or as my sis calls it, chrome colored hair. I do not look good with gray hair. It must be the color of my skin because I feel washed out when I have gray hair showing up.

It isn’t just getting the gray colored that makes me feel good. It is the experience of sitting in the beauty shop and being pampered. Today was a bit rough though because my hairdresser’s son wrecked his car. She was dealing with the insurance company while doing my hair. I hoped she wouldn’t make a bad cut as she was finding out what they would and wouldn’t pay. Yikes!

The girls in the shop where I go to have my hair done are so much fun. They are very friendly. I have been going to this shop for over 20 years and have watched some of these gals become grandmas. Cindy, one of the beauticians, had a visit from her little 2 year old grand daughter today. Today is Cindy’s birthday and little Cama brought her a bouquet of balloons. I hadn’t seen Cama since she was in a carrier after being born. Here she was walking and bringing her Nana balloons. It was fun to be a part of Cindy’s moment.

I am home now and getting ready to go out for dinner. I have to make sure I don’t have any hair dye on my face. See ya….

I’ve been grey since I was in middle school. If I don’t get it done every 4 weeks, I look 10 years older. It gets super expensive, but I can’t go without.

I know what you mean. I color my hair, too. I had my first gray hair when I was 19, and I started getting some more gray when I was in my early 30’s. I guess I’ve been coloring my hair for around 20 years now. I do my own coloring and use Preference, Excellence, or ColorSilk. The majority of the time I just color my roots once every week or ten days, and I always shampoo immediately after coloring to get the smell out (even though the directions say to wait). That works pretty well, and doing it myself is a lot less expensive!

I hear ya! I’ve been going grey since I was sixteen and I so….don’t look good with grey hair. If I didn’t color it I would be completely grey and I’m only 40 LOL

Since 16 and one lady since middle school. Wow. At least I was 21 before I discovered my first gray hair.

I have tried coloring it myself. I usually end up with a big mess. I wish one of my sisters lived close enough to do it for me. Sigh.

My gray stripe is starting to peak through too! LOL!
I color myself also, I have a button up rag of a shirt I wear when I color. It has hair color spots all over it!
