Four Foods on Friday #41
I am so jealous! Val is on vacation. You know, Val as in the one who thinks up the great questions for Four Foods on Friday. Well, I wish her loads of fun. Here are the questions she presented for this weeks meme.
#1. If you could travel anywhere to have a meal, where would you want to go and what would you want to eat.
I would love to go to Maine and eat seafood.
#2. When you go away do you make your own meals or eat out?
We always eat out. I want to feel pampered.
#3. While traveling if you have to stop for a meal do you go in or do you go through the drive thru and eat in the car?
I would rather eat in the car because I am anxious to get to our destination. Hubby wants to stretch his legs so we end up eating inside.
#4. Share a recipe or food related trip for people making a long trip by car.
We usually take bottled water and sometimes a thermos of coffee. We like to have some trail mix along to snack on.

‘Pampered’ is the word I was looking for. Darn, that’s why we go on holiday – to be pampered and not have to slave in the kitchen, right?
Have a great weekend, karen

I agree. I love to cook, but if I wanted to do that I would have stayed home.
Traveling is all about relaxing, seeing different/new things, and eating out as far as I am concerned.

My mom lived in Maine until she was 29 and never liked much seafood and never lobster. I don’t like it either. Go figure.

The way i see it, if I’m away, i’m not about to cook. And when we’re driving somewhere, I take lots of drinks in a small cooler and trail mix and beef jerky. It’s weird i know but it’s the only time i actually like beef jerky.

Feeling pampered is definitely a part of eating out. There are no dishes to tend to afterwards… it’s great!

Thermos of coffee! Now why did a coffee hound like me not think of that? Common sense escapes me sometimes…. *is ashamed*

I love to cook, but not in a stange kitchen when I’m supposed to relaxing and getting away from it all. Besides, travel is all about discovery, including new foods!

My mother-in-law went to Maine last year, and she said she had lobster every day, and it was the best she ever had.
We just got back from South Carolina, and the shrimp there was delicious. I can’t eat regular fish, just shellfish, but my in-laws and husband said the regular fish was incredible.

Eating out occasionally is a great thing. There you are forced to spend time with your loved ones and talk about the things you hardly have time at home.

Oh man, pampered is it. That is what we should feel like going on vacation because we don’t have to do the normal routines.
Glad you like visiting down here Sheri
