Because my parents traveled extensively when they lived overseas, I reaped the benefits. My sisters and I were fortunate that Mom and Dad brought us treasures from foreign countries. I still use the brass vases and statues they gave to me to decorate my home. I like the unique feeling that they bring to my home. I have a beautiful brass tea set that I arrange silk flowers around and choose the flowers to coincide with the seasons. I have never been into buying things for my home that you would find in everyone else’s home. I like to be different.

Mom and Dad also bought jewelry for us from different countries. I have some of the most beautiful opal and jade jewelry. Some of the pieces are conversational jewelry that I bring out when we have friends over and I want to show them the beautiful pieces in my collection. Other pieces are some of my favorites to wear. They never go out of style.
