New Music
Sheryl Crow and Alison Goldfrapp both have new albums and you might have to buy both because their sounds are totally different. Detours is Sheryl Crow’s sixth studio album and is considered her best in 10 years. She has gone back to her traditional sound and that makes her fans, like me, very happy. Perhaps, after a rough couple of years, what with the break up with her boyfriend and a battle with cancer, she decided to pour her soul into a heartfelt album. She has adopted a baby boy that has been a delight in her life. Whatever the reason, it is a great album.
Sheryl Crow voices her political opinion on the album. She is definitely fed up with George Bush as she sings “God Bless this Mess.”
Alison Goldfrapp surprises us with a more mellow sound and then comes back with a bit of disco. I have heard that she is known for a harder beat type of music and racy disco dancing. Called the electro sexpot, even Madonna had a few comments about her. I am not familiar with her but after hearing this album, I will be watching for more of her music.
