Stay Out of My Way
Oh my goodness. A friend just called to ask for my recommendation for a doctor. Her daughter was in Colorado and broke her leg while skiing. I always have a fear of breaking something when we ski. Not that we ski much since the kids have left home. The last time we went skiing, I said I would stay in the lodge and enjoy the experience simply drinking hot cocoa and sitting by the fire. I could not sit there for very long before I had on my skis and hit the slopes. I love to ski. I am not very good and my ski style is what I call, the mosey. I mosey down the slopes, going as slow as possible. Every once in a while, my skis take on a mind of their own and try to go faster than I feel is comfortable. That is usually when I panic and fall. I get the most exercise from picking myself up on the slopes. My greatest fear is falling from the chair lift when it is my turn to hop off. It is so embarrassing to have them stop the whole process so I can crawl out of the way of the next chair. Skiing is an adventure that does not involve speed!
I hope my friend’s daughter finds a good orthopedic doctor and heals quickly.
