Through blogging, I met a wonderful writer. After she and I exchanged thoughts on our blogs, I found out that she is a writer. In fact, my new found friend, Coralie, is a published writer. I was curious to see what her books were like because the setting for her books is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where a few of my friends are from. They always talk about the UP like it is such a wonderful, mystical place.

The Wishing Years

It is a page turner! I have to force myself to put it down after an hour so I get a decent nights sleep. My sleep has been good as I dream about stories she recounts in her book.

I can just see her in the backseat of the family car, squished between her brother and sister as they go on their usual Sunday afternoon ride. Her mom and dad sound like the typical parents but with a hilarious ornery streak that sneaks in now and then. Family means the world to each of the family members and you feel like a part of that family as you read along.
